On the back page of the June 10th, 2020 edition there was a piece on Chilly’s ICE Cool Band which referred to the vacant lots next to the firehouse on North Prairie St as “the band’s field”.

The field, which is comprised of 5 vacant lots, is actually the property of Mr. Robin E. Norton, and is being used by permission after an inquiry by Mr. Ben Main as to whether it would be allowed.

I was happy to give permission and know that the children’s experiences will be a most positive influence in their life.

I applaud Councilman Cooks on the hard work he and others have put into the band and hope to see them in person when I can get back to Union Springs, or perhaps on one of their travel performances.

Sincerely,

Robin E. Norton
