With humble respect, Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs. Artie M. McNair, 89, of Banks, Alabama on March 29, 2020.
Having spent her lifetime caring for others, Mrs. McNair transitioned peacefully at the Southern Springs Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Celebration of Life Services and interment were held Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Cemetery of the Indian Creek Community.
The eulogy was delivered by Pastor, H.J. Fowler, of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Public visitation exercising prescribed social distancing protocols was held Friday, April 3, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home. Mrs. Artie Mae McNair was born June 4, 1930 to the late Ira Sr. and Victoria Cargle.
She married the late Rev. C.T. McNair. Mrs. McNair joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in numerous capacities as an Usher, Matron and Senior Choir member.
She lived a full life through simple pleasures – fishing, chatting with friends and family and watching baseball and TBN.
Mrs. McNair touched the lives of many in a deep and positive way. She leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Harold (Lillie) Cargle of Corona, NY; three sisters, Bessie Thomas of Birmingham, AL, Addie Thompson of Brooklyn, NY, and Victoria Jones of Union Springs, AL and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. McNair was preceded in death by: husband, Rev. C.T. McNair; parents, Ira Sr. and Victoria Cargle; three brothers, Oran Cargle, Ira Cargle Jr. and Alonza Cargle; and four sisters, Gurlie Walker, Phennie Cargle, Annie Walker and Ethel Walker.
