Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Willie Oscar King, Sr., 77, of Union Springs Alabama. Mr. King a former County Services employee passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020. Celebration of Life Services and Interment was held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt Zion Baptist Cemetery, Mathews, AL
The message of comfort and strength will be rendered by Pastor Arthur L. Jones of the Briar Hill Baptist and Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Churches Public visitation was held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.
All visitations and services will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols. Willie Oscar King, Sr. was born in Mathews, Alabama on June 17, 1942, to the late Nathan and Effie King.
Willie was an extremely hard worker and spent several years employed by the Bullock County Commission. With a great love for his family, Willie was always picking fun with his brothers and sisters.
He also enjoyed baseball and spending time outdoors. He transitioned into eternity on May 17, 2020.
Along with his parents, his brothers: Joe King, Arthur Lee King, Clifton King, Cleveland King and Edward King all preceded him in death. Willie is the proud father of Katrice Mueller, Willie Oscar King, Jr. and baby girl, Effie King who is now with him in heaven.
Sharing cherished memories with his children are his younger brother, Alvin King; his three sisters: Mammie Sanders of Florida, Mary Eliza Artis and Betty Edwards both of New York; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Annie King, and numerous other relatives and friends.
