Rozell Harris, Sr.

Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Rozell Harris, Sr, 61, of Fitzpatrick, Alabama. Affectionately known to several as "Woon" Mr. Harris passed away April 23, 2019 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church of Fitzpatrick, Rev. Arnather Baxter is the Pastor.

The message of triumph will be delivered by the Rev. Steven Monday, pastor of the High Ridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hillard Baptist Cemetery, Town Creek Community. Mr. Harris will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services. Public visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Mr. Rozell Harris, Sr., son of the late Clark and Eula Mae Harris was born November 2, 1957 in Union Springs, AL. He attended the public schools of Bullock County.

At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He was employed at Montgomery Beef Processing Plant for over 21 years. He was a small business owner, farmer, hunter, and fisherman. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Barbara Caffie Harris on February 22, 1979. This union was blessed with five children. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife on March 12, 2015.

He was a supportive father of his six children and a caring grandfather to his grandchildren. His caring and giving spirit will truly be missed by many, to include his dialysis family at Fresenius Kidney Care, where they affectionately called him as "Polo".

Rozell leaves to cherish his memories, six children, Shameria Harris, Mckenzie (Rumeisha) Harris, Roosevelt (Charlena) Harris, all of Fitzpatrick, AL, Kimberly Burton of Chesson, AL, Roychester Harris and Rozell (Itasha) Harris, Jr., all of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Kalib Burton, Tony Green, Jr., Miyah Green, Niyah Green, Calik Avery, Kaden McCoy and Kamden McCoy; four siblings, one special sister, Rosa Flowers of Cocoa, FL, three brothers, Robert (Cynthia) Harris, Aldophus (Vinnie) Harris, all of Fitzpatrick, AL, and Tobbie (Irene) Harris of Tallassee, AL; one special aunt, Carolyn Jones of Union Springs; mother-in-law, Bertha Caffie of Chesson, AL; four sisters-in-law, Vera Harris, Eloise Harris, both of Cocoa, FL; Pollie (Lawyer) Calhoun of Fitzpatrick, AL, and Henrietta Blakely of Chesson, AL; one brother-in-law, Willie (Irene) Caffie of Montgomery, AL; special friends, Robert White, Frank Miles, and Lisa Rivers; along with a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
