Hubert Franklin “Hugh” Barbaree, II, died April 5, 2020, at his home in Sylacauga, Alabama. Hugh grew up in Union Springs and spent the majority of his adult life there as well.

Hugh was educated at Bullock Memorial School, Banks Schools, and Sparks State Technical College.

Hugh enjoyed working for Bonnie Plants, where he worked for over fifteen years. His health began to worsen, and he had to make the painful decision to resign. He worked as a night security guard.

Hugh was a member of The First Baptist Church of Union Springs, where in the past, he had gone on several mission trips to build churches.

Hugh was married to Tammy Lynn Mitchell Barbaree.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Renfroe. He was also proceeded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Mattie Pearl Herring Barbaree, Hubert Barbaree, and H.T. “Shortly” Renfroe and Mildred Garrett Ritch.

Hugh is survived by his father Hubert Franklin Barbaree and stepmother Pamela Weaver Barbaree. He is also survived by his sister Paula Barbaree. Hugh is survived by two half-sisters: Jaheha Barbaree and Joan (Donald) Barbaree Rogers and one half brother Jacob Hubert Barbaree. He is survived by three nieces, a nephew, several aunts, one uncle, and numerous cousins.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, from the Louisville United Methodist Church in Louisville, Alabama.
