Eunice Marie White

Carter Funeral Home is humbled to announce the transition of Ms. Eunice Marie White, 91, of Ft. Davis, Alabama.

Ms. White transitioned into eternity, Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Huntsville, Alabama. Celebration of Life Services were held Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 12:00 noon from the sanctuary of the St. Paul Baptist Church of Tuskegee, Alabama. The message of comfort and strength was delivered by Rev. Willie Banks, pastor. Interment followed in the St. Paul Baptist Cemetery. Ms.White lay in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services. Public visitation was held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Ms. Eunice Marie White, daughter of the late Archie and Sylvia Williams White was born November 29, 1927 in Ft. Davis, Alabama. Early in her life she confessed a belief in Christ and united with the Elizabeth Baptist Church of Ft. Davis. She later united with the St. Paul Baptist Church family.

She believed in education and was proud of her 8th Grade Education. Her life was molded around the philosophy: “I can go all around the world and talk to the most educated people anywhere because I have common sense, and I listen more than I talk.”

Valuing hard work and commitment, Ms. White was employed by the Columbus Mills Manufacturing Plant until her retirement. She was also a retired employee of Tuskegee University.

During her almost two decades of service, she received numerous selections as Custodian of the Month, and was honored as Custodian of the Year by then University President, Dr. Benjamin F. Payton. Eunice transitioned into eternity on July 25, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her eldest sisters: Theresa Bell Slaughter and Rowena L. White; and brothers: Archie White, Sr., Herman B. White, Sr. and Wallace White, Sr. Her loving memories will be cherished by one son, Gregory White, Huntsville, Al.; one sister, Olivia Hollifield; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews: Willie James (Eartha) White, Dorothy L. White, all of New Rochelle, NY., Bob J. White, Tuskegee, AL., Janice M. White, Tuskegee, AL., Dr. Herman B. White, Jr., Chicago, IL., Betty White, Union Springs, AL., Author White, Atlanta, GA., and Larry (Patricia) White, Sr., Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
