Armanda Walker Dawson

Carter Funeral Home is humbled to announce the transition of Mrs. Armanda Walker Dawson, 65, of Midway, Alabama on June 14, 2019. Mrs. Dawson transitioned peacefully into eternity while in the comfort of her loving family.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 12:00 noon from the sanctuary of the Historic St. James CME Church of Midway, Rev. John Ward, pastor.

The message of triumph will be delivered by her brother in law, Pastor Bailey Dawson of the Eagle Grove Baptist Church, Marion, Alabama.

Interment will follow in the Great Hope United in Christ Cemetery, Midway, Alabama. Mrs. Dawson will lie in repose at the Church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services. Public visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Sister Armanda Walker Dawson was born November 26, 1953 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Ruth Walker. She joined St. James C.M.E. Church at an early age and remained faithful until her health failed her. She departed this earthly life on June 14, 2019 at 5820 Salem Road Montgomery, Alabama.

Sis. Dawson was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Willie L. Walker, Jr. two sisters, Georgia Walker Lewis and Mary Frances Walker Phillips. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving son and daughter-in-law, Oscar Lee Dawson, Jr. and Pamela Dawson (her angel).

She is also survived by seven siblings, four brothers: Moses Walker (Midway, AL), Joe (Janet) Walker (Miami, FL), James Walker (Miami, FL), Arthur (Callie) Walker, Sr. (Midway, AL), and three sisters: Regina Jackson (Midway, AL), Mary (John) Avery (Tampa, FL) and Margaret Young (Eufaula, AL); Brother-In-Laws: Mack Dawson, Larry Dawson, Millard (Brenda) Dawson, Bailey (Shirley) Dawson, Germany (Claudia) Dawson and Lopel Griffen) and Sister-In-Law: Mable (Johnny) Peebles, Mattie Rachael Houston; two grandsons: Jacquacious (Zaria) Dawson and Oscar (Tashica) Dawson; four great grands: La'Keyica, Jaleyah, Breylin and Yzabella; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a godsister Hermetta Williams, devoted friends Bessie Caldwell, Eddie Bea Scarver, Annie Ellison, and Richard Penn; "Best Friend" and "Road Partner" Ceaser and Lillie Dixon.
