Emergency Management Agency Director, Josh Powell, announces that all land-line telephones in Bullock County are in the Rave Alert warning system recently purchased.
He is working to get cell phones signed up.

Information can be sent out on conditions of wet roads; trees down; bridges and roads that are closed; flooded roads; location of traffic wrecks blocking roads, power lines down, burn restrictions; watch and warnings for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes and hail; locations of storm shelters that are open (such as Merritt School in Midway, Bullock County Courthouse rear entrance, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Hwy. 82, Greenwood Baptist Church on County Road 7).
Bring your own supplies to a storm shelter such as blankets, water and flashlight.
Information can be sent to phones of the location of an active assailant/shooter.
The contract for Bullock County is for three years to be renewed with the approval of the Bullock County Commission.
The system is in use by other counties and colleges/universities around the state.
