Mary Bufford was a lifelong resident of Union Springs, AL. She passed away on April 20, 2020.

Mary was employed as a social worker by the Bullock County Department of Human Health Resources.

I recall some forty years ago when Mary took her mother-in-law, Mrs. Smith, on a daily walk on the sidewalk in front of the Bullock County Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was a resident in Bullock County Nursing Home and Mary devoted her time during her lunch hour to spend with her mother-in-law.

Mary had a great love for family and friends.

She was a substitute Sunday School teacher for the ladies Bible class at Faith Church where she was a devoted member.

She reminds me of “The Virtuous Women” spoken of in the book of Proverbs and also one of the beatitudes in Matthews, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”

During failing health in her later years, Mary maintained a positive attitude of faith in God.

She leaves behind precious memories for her family and friends.
