Seven requests made by the Bullock County Engineer, Jason DeShazo, at the February 10, 2020 regular meeting of the Bullock County Commission were approved. Resolution number 2020-02 for the County Road 165 project was approved.
It was approved to declare the named equipment surplus and allow the County Engineer to sell them on govdeals.com---Daewoo Doosan Loader, Fiat Hitachi Loader, John Deere Tractor, International Garbage Truck, Kenworth Garbage Truck and old office phones.
With the funds from those sales on govdeals.com, it was approved to purchase a John Deere Front Loader from ALDOT for $56,000 and a Massey Ferguson 5465 Tractor from ADCEA surplus for $5,000.
It was approved to clean the Richard Stone Complex building by Person's Cleaning Service for $5,000 from the county's Capital Improvement Fund. DeShazo stated the building had not been thoroughly cleaned in years and is overdue for a cleaning.
It was approved to purchase a new fire alarm panel with backup and smoke detectors for $3,946.50 to be paid from the county's Capital Improvement Fund. A loan proposal with CB&T for the purchase of the county's Triaxle Dump Trucks was approved.
The terms of the loan are for five years with one payment coming due at the end of each year. Approval was given to renew bids for traffic striping, construction equipment/operator and asphalt, ColdMix/Hot Mix.
