The Bullock County Schools Child Nutrition Program is serving meals to students throughout Bullock County during the mandatory school closure. We have hired a temporary staff to prepare nutritious meals for students during these uncertain times.

The staff reports to work at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday in order to have the meals delivered by 11:00 a.m. This past week we also distributed fresh produce purchased through the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program grant from Union Springs Elementary School in order to prevent waste. The items highlighted were dragon fruit and acorn squash.

We delivered food to children at Midway Nutrition Site, Cornerstone Community Center, Conecuh Springs Christian School, and House of Light Daycare. We also delivered produce items to Union Springs Nutrition Site and Midway Nutrition Site for their senior feeding programs.

Bullock County High School is the community feeding site. Children ages 0 -18 can come by and receive meals this week from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

This week we will be serving breakfast and lunch. The children will pick up both meals at the same time between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. daily.

Breakfast meals will consist of cereal, fruits, and milk. Lunch meals will consist of sandwich, vegetables, fruit, and milk.

Please share this information with members of the community.

Thank you,
