Bullock County High School has hired Sheldon Ward

Bullock County High School has hired Sheldon Ward to take over the Hornet football program.

Ward comes to Union Springs with 22 years of experience, six as a head coach. Over that time, he has held the role of Assistant and Coordinator on both sides of the football, on both the collegiate and high school levels.

Most recently he held the title of Wide Receiver Coach/Pass Game Coordinator at Dublin High School in Dublin, GA.

During those two seasons, Dublin amassed a record of 32-7, with a Region Runner-up, two Region Championships, and the 2019 Class AA State Championship. They were ranked 24th Nationally of Small Schools, finished #3 Nationally in Rushing with over 7,500 yards on the ground.

He hopes to bring that same tenacity to the BCHS football program. Ward was born in the Chambers County area, here in Alabama but attended Lowndes High in Valdosta, GA.

He earned his Bachelor's in Recreation Administration and Physical Education at Jacksonville State University and is currently taking classes through The University of West Florida.

He is also the proud father of daughter, Morgan Elana who is 14 years old.
