The Economic Development Association of Alabama has named Bullock County Economic Developer, David Padgett, to the newly formed Rural Committee on Economic Development.
The Committee was formed to help address the issues facing rural Alabama. The primary focus will be on education, legislative and infrastructure.
The goal is for the committee to provide technical assistance and training for rural communities seeking to enhance their competitiveness for new investment, jobs and development projects.
Seth Hammett chairs the Rural Committee. Approximately 30 members comprise the Rural Committee, of these ten are local Economic Developers from cities and counties across the State.
The remaining members are state government and industry affiliated developers.

Brenda Tuck is the first to take on the new job of Rural Development Manager for the Alabama Department of Commerce.
