Pastor Wendy Morgan

Pastor Wendy Morgan has been in the ministry for twenty five years. Her latest accomplishment was being ordained as Chaplain by the International Fellowship of Chaplains for the Highway 51 Fire Department.

Morgan said, “Joe Perry asked me to be a volunteer minister for the department after seeing people hurting during national disasters. I want to be a helping hand to people who are hurting. Not only are lives lost, but people lose their homes and some lose their jobs.

"They often need someone to talk to. Through God’s grace and mercy He brought me a long way and now I want to help others.” Pastor Morgan has pastored six churches including Free Gift A.M.E.

Church in Abbeville, AL and Greater Friendship A.M.E. Church in Shorterville, AL. She worked for National Industries and American National Bank as well as S.E. Alabama Sickle Cell Association.

She has many accomplishments and is also a substitute teacher for Bullock County Schools. Pastor Morgan is the wife to Mr. Johnny Morgan and she gave him three beautiful daughters; Martez Runyon who is married to Shantavious Runyon, Johnetta Morgan, and Shireatha Morgan. She also has a goddaughter, Shaundra Williams and she’s the doting grandmother to four grandchildren.

She is the sister to two brothers and one sister, who’s mother is Ollie H. Allen (widow to the late Nelson Allen,) and father is Howard Brunson (married to Betty Brunson.)

One of her favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. “The journey is not easy but by God’s grace and mercy I made it and you can make it too.” proclaimed Pastor Morgan.

I would like to thank God, family, church family, firefighters, teachers, friends for prayers, support, encouragement, love that was giving to me as I accomplished this great achievement.
