Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill visited with Bullock County Probate Judge James E. Tatum last week.

They spoke about issues important to the citizens concerning elections.

Judge James E. Tatum was selected to be on the Election Assistance Commission, a national board, by Secretary Merrill.

Judge James E. Tatum was also selected to be on Merrill’s Advisory Council, which consists of ten probate judges, out of the 68, in the State of Alabama.

Merrill stated, “I am proud Judge Tatum serves the state in these roles.” The next election in Alabama will be held March 3, 2020.

Secretary Merrill said, “Judge Tatum does elections the right way. I don’t have to worry about Bullock County.”

Secretary Merrill visits all 67 counties yearly. Merrill is a Republican from Tuscaloosa County.

Judge James E. Tatum stated, “I appreciate the partnership that Secretary Merrill has exhibited from the Secretary of State’s office. We have a great working relationship and he is a true friend of the Probate Judges Association of Alabama.”
