Congratulations to each of you for what you have accomplished over the past 3 years at your home away from home.

The community here at Bullock County High School has given you the opportunity to maximize potential, reach your goals and be the best that you can be!

When you started this journey, we are sure you anticipated ending your senior year with loads of fun activities including prom, parties and graduation.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has disrupted those plans. Instead of enjoying spring break, with mixed emotions and much anxiety, you were stuck at home practicing social distancing and contemplating what the new normal would be like.

But we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose for them (Romans 8:28).

You have been thrust into this unique opportunity of setting the stage for what will become the new normal for high school graduates all over the country. I encourage you to embrace your new role. The Bible tells us that God knows the plans He has for you.

These plans are to prosper you and not to harm you and will give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Yes, you are pioneers on the forefront of a new and innovative form of education, virtual online learning.

You had to become independent and self-motivated learners a few months earlier than you probably expected, but you have been chosen for this assignment.

You are creative thinking responsible individuals. You’ve been challenged to set goals and you have had the fortitude to achieve those goals. So, be confident as you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Many of you will go off to college; several will pursue military careers, and some of you will start new jobs right out of high school. Whatever path you choose, yours will be the blueprint to follow. Just remember, "..Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9).

We just want you to know that we love and support you in your future endeavors and encourage you not to let anything stop you from achieving your dreams.
